Nice and charming city, with typical architecture for cities in Greece, all buildings almost the same size and very close to each other with narrow streets and sidewalks (looks chaotic and cute at the same time). Lots of cafes and restaurants in the city center. Visited for the New Year and were surprised how everything was decorated, every street, square, tree... Do not miss the fortress and the view from there.
Sunset is great as the city is oriented to the west.
Also highly recommend to visit Archaia Olympia (where Olympic games in ancient Greece were held) which is 1.5 hours away by car.
Be careful in the traffic in the city center as it is very chaotic, during 5 days experienced several cases where cars just did not stop on a red light (when for pedestrians was green!).
Another negative side - extremely expensive fee for driving over the bridge if entering the city from north (14.7 eur per car for one direction!)

Patra is a wonderful city, bustling and peaceful at the same time. We drank very delicious Greek coffee in quite a few cafes. The castle offers a wonderful view of the city. We tasted great wines at Achaia Clauss.

Patra is the key location for any traveler who wants to mix sunbathing days with history lessons experiences. One can easily get to more than 5 beaches located nearby, all with crystal clear waters and either pebbles or sand, where sunbeds can be found. At the same time, there are multiple other historical locations that can be visited (Epidavros, Delphi, Ancient Olimpia, temple of Apollo, Micene, etc.). All the small villages along the coast offer exquisite views and interesting things may be learnt from them (see Nafpaktos and Lepanto)

Patras is worth visiting for its architecture and night life. There are some very good restaurants too, we ate in Prego in the old city and is a quirky restaurant with excellent Mediterranean dishes. Stroll around the pedestrian areas and you will be stunned by the liveliness of the city. Stop for a drink at Treli Rodia an old time favourite and speak to the owner Alexis to learn about the Patras he has experienced

Patras is the third largest city in Greece, it is a very lively place and has many young people. There are ferries to all the Ionian Islands from Patra and nearby Killini. Patras is best known for its Rio-Antirio bridge. It is a real pleasure to swim on one of the beaches near the bridge and watch the huge mountains across the road.
What a funky fun hotel! The best parts are the view (book a room with sea view if you can), the rooftop patio (again for the view) and the self-serve breakfast (generous and food variety). The room was comfortable and clean and they give you a drink (no alcohol) and a couple of donuts when you check in. This is a chain by Marriott (which we only realized later) and the whole branding is fun and definitely targeted to a young audience. There is also a pool, but it was closed at the time. Lots of places to sit and hang out.
It is defiantly a unique hotel, and since we stayed in lots of different hotels in Greece my wife and i were super happy we found this cool hotel, it is like going back in time, the owner was very helpful even doe we arrived late at night, he still tried to help us out with our next trip. super thanks
i read on other reviews that people were saying that the hotel needs an upgrade, it does not... it was clean and comfortable as any other hotel, it had something better the cool effect of the decor, we loved it
This was our second stay at this hotel and we booked a room with city view. Like before, everything was perfect. Spotless room, huge and comfortable bed, big bathroom with plenty of amenities. The host is amazing and willing to go an extra mile to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We definitely going to book again in our future trips to Patra.
Based in a neo-classical building in the centre of Patra, this hotel is a gem. It offers exceptional architecture, room design and comfort. The staff welcomed us warmly and took care of all our needs. We had a perfect breakfast in one of the loveliest hotel gardens. In the evening you can enjoy a drink in this lovely atmosphere.
Friendly staff, perfect location. Several private parking lots, but you need some luck to park. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed, fridge, kattle, air conditioner, and a balcony. All facilities are in good condition. Excellent and stable wifi. Cleaning and towels changing was every day. We liked our stay in the hotel
Needed to consult with Customs at Patras port. Hotel is centered between New Port and Old Port, facing the harbor. Great restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Good supermarkets anf home improvement store also with easy walking distance. Great staff. Nice breakfast buffet. Very clean and modrrn.
A large apartment, well equipped especially in the kitchen, very clean, with all you need for sort or long staying.Location is excellent with stores near by and short walk to the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Excellent place to stay in Patra!
A top quality hotel worthy its high price. The backyard where breakfast is served is a true oasis in a city that is busy and noisy. In the same backyard a top quality restaurant with a Mediterranean cuisine with a strong “twist”. See the menu.
This is my third stay at this outstanding hotel in the centre of Patras, where everyone is so professional and delightful.
The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable, and nothing is missing.
It is a real gem at a very good price.
A really 4 star hotel in Greece. We traveled a lot and very few that have 4 stars are really at a 4 star west European level. This one is. Very comfortable, clean and good food on a great roof top terrace. The bar is also classic and chic :)
A nice hotel inside a big building. Sea front side. Near the downtown of the city of Patras. Cheap prices. A pool on the rooftop. The rooms are spacious. This is an old palace and now this is a cheap four stars.
Great spot and truly helpful and polite hostess. I had a flash trip (one night stay) in Patras where I had to book a room at the city center. The room is refurbished and well equipped.
